The last ERRL event at Finsbury Park RR saw Morris Bacon, Tommy Power, Zak Coleman and Jali Packer in action on Sunday. The 4 riders were active throughout trying to force a break however due to the high winds and a vigilant peloton meant that nothing got more than a minute lead. The last lap saw everything come back together ready for the uphill sprint finish. Unfortunately, a crash near the front of the group in the last 600m brought Morris down and put many other riders out of contention. Zak finished in 12th place at the back of the front group, Jail finished 17th in the next group with Tommy just behind in 23rd. Glad to hear that Morris was ok with no injuries. Well done all!!
Kieran Jarvis was also riding in the Junior national series Cyclo-cross in Derby on Sunday. Kieran started on the second row and got off to a good start meaning he was riding at the front for the first half a lap in before moving back slightly into a group of 10 behind. He was then riding with 2 riders just behind this group for most of the race before being distanced close to then end and managed to win the sprint for 15th place, a great result for Kieran. Well done!!
Jali Packer raced in the George Niner Memorial Junior Classic at Hog Hill on Saturday. He managed to take 4th place, winning the sprint from a small chase group of three – less than a minute down on the leaders. Tough racing in even tougher conditions but with this result he’s managed to retain his 2nd cat licence for next season! Bring on 2017
